How might primary sources help us become better writers?


Introduction

Step 1 Open the PowerPoint presentation and display the presentation to the whole group.
Step 2 Progress through each slide of the PowerPoint presentation while reading the questions aloud.
Step 3 Prompt participants to answer the questions in the powerpoint and discuss the image as each new section is unveiled.
Step 4 Discuss the changing interpretation of the primary source based upon the evidence presented.
Step 5 Relate the full image to the larger learning goals.
Step 6 Brainstorm other primary sources that could be examined in the same way and what could be learned by further examinations.
