A Monumental Math Quest
How does math relate to buildings and structures in the United States?

Investigation: Phase 1 - Mathematician

Step One: Gather Supplies.
A good mathematician always has all of his/her materials ready. Make sure you have a pencil, lots of looseleaf paper, a ruler/meter stick, a brightly colored pen/pencil, and a calculator. In addition, you will need to open the Archimatics worksheet. This will be where you input your answers. You may either answer right on the word file or print it out and answer by hand. It is a decision for you and your partner to make. Your teacher may choose to give you a printed out copy instead.

Step Two: Begin Your Journey.
You will start your journey by visiting Mount Rushmore.

Step Three: Record Findings.
After examining the photo, refer to your Archimatics worksheet and answer the questions for Mount Rushmore.

Step Four: Replicate.
Repeat steps two and three by visiting the other four monuments:

Step Five: Confirm Findings.
A good mathematician will always check over all of his/her work to make sure it is correct and complete.

Step Six: Reveal Findings.
When all findings are confirmed, report to the teacher and hand in your Archimatics worksheet.
