Congratulations! You and your partner have been hired by the European Union (EU) to increase tourism throughout Europe and evaluate the unity of the region.

The EU is a political and economic union, whose origin can be traced backed to the post World War II era that Herblock depicted in his political cartoon. Although the EU consists of many European countries, it would like you to highlight the common cultural heritage found throughout the member countries, but at the same time, the EU would like you to preserve and support the diversity of each country. You must also bear in mind that there are several countries that are not current members of the EU (and there are a lot of different reasons for the varying status of these non-member countries).

Tourism is extremely important to countries throughout Europe. Tourism can increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of a country and help create businesses and new jobs. In addition to the economic benefits, tourism is important to countries who are increasingly dependent on each other for economic, political, and social support.
