Surviving the Great Depression
How Did Your Great Grandparents Do It?

Process for Students

You will be in the computer lab for the next five days. Your task is to create a scrapbook for your great grandparent reflecting some of the experiences he or she may have endured during the Great Depression.

  • From the nine activities below, you are to select five (one per class period).
  • Once you have selected an activity from the grid below, follow the directions specific to that page.
  • The examining of the primary sources and the analysis worksheet(s) are to be completed in class.
  • The scrapbook task is your homework assignment due the next day.
  • Ultimately these five assignments will make up the bulk of your scrapbook.
  • You are also required to create a colorful and creative cover for your scrapbook.
  • Spelling will count, so take pride in your work.
