Creative Americans: Portraits by Carl Van Vechten, 1932-1964

STEP ONE: Visit Harlem! Take the Tour of 1920s Harlem. Get a copy of the map from your teacher, and make sure you record important information on it so you can find your way around! Your map will count as a grade for social studies.

STEP TWO: Learn about art during the Harlem Renaissance. Click on Artists to get an introduction. Make sure you thoughtfully complete the Artist section on your graphic organizer!

STEP THREE: Learn about literature during the Harlem Renaissance. Click on Writers to get an introduction. Make sure you thoughtfully complete the Writer section on your graphic organizer!

STEP FOUR: Learn about music during the Harlem Renaissance. Click on Music to get an introduction. Make sure you thoughtfully complete the Musician section on your graphic organizer!

STEP FIVE: Complete the critical thinking question on your graphic organizer. It will count as a grade in Language Arts.
