Task
Can people be trusted to govern themselves?
You have a series of challenges to help the governed learn their role in a democracy.
Challenge 1
 |
The year is 1789. The Constitution has been ratified! Washington is president! But he is not interested in being king. He would like the people educated about the rights and duties of citizens as well as how government is responsible to them. Washington thinks only RED, WHITE & BLUE can help Americans learn to be citizens!
Create a media campaign to educate citizens what they must do and be in a democracy. Your handbill which will be posted in all corners of the 13 states and into the frontier will include how the people will direct their government.

|
The year is 1791. Madison hires RED, WHITE & BLUE again. This time he wants you to dramatize the new Bill of Rights, so that all citizens, even those who can't read, will understand their individual rights.
Create a series of tableaus dramatizing those rights. |
|
The year is 1793. RED, WHITE & BLUE is called on to help the new political parties. The Federalists led by Alexander Hamilton want you to place a series of "attacks" in the form of political cartoons in major papers around the country. Secretly, the Democratic- Republicans led by Thomas Jefferson have asked you to do the same thing against the Federalists! Dirty politics...and RED, WHITE & BLUE is in the middle! |
Final challenge

|
The year is 1823. RED, WHITE & BLUE is competing to get the James Monroe job advertising the righteousness of the Monroe Doctrine.
Put together a poster board showing RED, WHITE & BLUE's past work (handbill, cartoon, picture of tableau) to prove to Monroe no other public relations firm can do the job like RED, WHITE & BLUE! |
Go to Process to find the steps for each challenge.
