Preparing America to Govern
Can people be trusted to govern themselves?

Conclusion for Students

Can people be trusted to govern themselves?

For this reflection, you may want to consider the following questions that you worked through during each of the RED, WHITE & BLUE challenges:

  • Can people learn to be good citizens? How? Why are citizenship skills necessary in a democracy?

  • Why in a democracy should indivdiual rights be protected?

  • How does our Constitution guarantee that no one part of or individual in government has too much power?

  • Why did political parties form? Are they good for democracy?

If the teacher directs, set up a presentation board to win the "Monroe" contract (see Task-- Final Challenge).
