Task for Students

You have been hired by the True History Publishing House to write a children's book that details the story of the American Indians and how they were affected by the events that shaped the United States. Your story should begin before Europeans even set foot on this continent and it will end with the Civil War, showing some ways that American Indians took part in the many events that shaped our country, even as their many nations fell apart.

This is not like most projects that you start and finish in a few weeks. Instead, you will gather research for your book in several stages throughout the year. Prepare yourself for the writing by completing the lessons found on the process page. The primary sources that you view in these lessons should serve as inspiration for you to fill the pages of your book.
