Rubric for Students

Step 1: What's going on out there?
You worked cooperatively with your partner to read the documents and record facts. You participated in the sharing time by explaining what you found. You listened attentively to classmates and recorded new information on your collection sheet. You wrote a thoughtful, complete evaluation of your decision.
Step 2: Meet a Miner
You worked cooperatively with your group to read primary sources and successfully collect information on an individual miner. You traded information with your classmates until your chart was filled. You offered ideas in the discussion on drawing conclusions.
Step 3: Tell me a Story
You used your knowledge and creativity to produce a book designed to educate young people about the gold rush in California.
