Famous Virginians
What role did Virginians play in founding our country?

Introduction for Students

Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Henry and Mason, do these names ring a bell? Everywhere you go, you'll find these names on streets, schools and other buildings. Why do we honor these names? What makes these people famous Virginians?

In this LibraryQuest, you will create an historical museum exhibit while investigating the roles these famous Virginians played in the founding of the United States of America. As you do your research and set up your exhibits, think about the following questions:

  • How did the ideas of these famous Virginians provide for the rights of all Americans?
  • What were their roles in the American Revolution?
  • How did their ideas shape the new government?
