Task for Students

Do you agree with Patrick Henry and want to raise arms against your mother country? Or are you angry with Mr. Henry’s treasonous words?

Fiery Patriot or Faithful Loyalist? After you decide, your task will be to create a campaign to educate neutralists and persuade them to join your cause.

Your Reactions

Use your understanding of colonial law to decide whether you are a patriot or a loyalist. 

Then, use you knowledge to influence colonists who are “on the fence” – colonists who are neither loyalists nor patriots.  Possible things you can create are a:

  • Speech
  • Broadside
  • Political Cartoon
  • Newspaper
  • Letter
  • Song / Poem

We will share the projects as a class.
